The sun finally graced us this week and the ice has officially melted from the sidewalks so I am in the mood for some SPRING CLEANING.
Okay, snow may be on the forecast for tomorrow, but I am still feeling the "bring on spring" bug! February can be a difficult month in general, so anything I can do to make these cold days brighter is a must. It may sound odd to some, but cleaning my house puts my in a better mood!
I'm one of those weirdos who picks up the house every night before I go to bed so when I wake up the next morning I can actually enjoy my cup of coffee without the stress of trying to frantically pick up the house.
Here's a quick low-tox, low waste DIY to add to your cabinets for when you are in the mood to do some spring cleaning.
First, mix the essential oils with the baking soda in a upcycled glass jar. Use as much baking soda as will fit into the jar you are using. If you need to purchase a new jar, check out my Amazon Storefront for ideas! An old parmesan shaker works well to store this DIY too and makes the next step extra easy (totally stole this idea from my friend Shelby).
Then, sprinkle the DIY Carpet Cleaner on your carpets. Let the mixture sit on the desired area for 10-20 minutes and then vacuum.
Your house will smell like a field of roses when you are done and you will simultaneously have the peace of mind knowing you did not use harsh, toxic chemicals to clean your house.
