DIY Coffee Sugar Scrub

Updated: May 15, 2020

Do you love the smell of coffee?

Minus my first trimester of pregnancy, I am a little coffee obsessed. My favorite brand is No Coast Coffee (20% of everything they make is donated back to missions AND they have an incredible subscription service which is so convenient).

I'm always looking for ways to reduce waste in our home and in the past I've used leftover coffee grounds for our container garden. This year I am having a baby so gardening is not a priority this year. Then I thought I could make a low tox sugar scrub that would be helpful for my postpartum stretch marks and utilize the coffee grounds at my house.

Here's what you need:

-Coffee Grounds

-Organic Sugar

-Cel-Lite Massage Oil

-Frankincense Essential Oil

-Lavender Essential Oil

-Organic Coconut Oil

Step 1: Melt 1/4 cup of Organic Coconut Oil.

Step 2: Mix melted Organic Coconut Oil, 4 tablespoons of Coffee, 3 tablespoons of Cel-Lite Massage Oil and 1/4 cup of Organic Sugar together.

*These are estimates of the measurements I think I used. I did not measure 100% exact. I simply mixed well until I got the texture and consistency I wanted.

Step 3: Add 5-10 drops of Frankincense Essential Oil and 5-10 drops of Lavender Essential Oil.

Allow the mixture to settle well. The coconut oil should solidify again and create the perfect consistency. If you go back to check on the mixture and it looks a little runny, add and mix in more sugar.

I am thrilled with how this quick DIY turned out! I plan to use it both on my face and my pregnancy stretch marks.
