DIY Date Smoothie

My husband and I went to the grocery store and stocked up on items we thought we would need before baby. I passed by some medjool dates and added them to the cart because I remembered some of my fellow pregnant friends saying they were really good for possibly helping labor get started in the third trimester. Healthline has a really great article explaining the health benefits of eating dates while pregnant! Read it here.
I reached out to my sweet friend Katie, who just recently had a baby, for a date smoothie recipe that I remembered her talking about.

DIY Date Smoothie
4 Medjool Dates
1 frozen banana
1 cup oats
Fill with milk/ice to size
Add chocolate of choice
I didn't have oats at my house, but I did have NuNatural's oat fiber. I did a little experimenting and came up with an adapted recipe that I ended up loving.

My adapted recipe:
4 Medjool dates
1 teaspoon organic cocoa
1 teaspoon of Haitian vanilla
1 teaspoon oat fiber
1 ripe banana
1/4 cup homemade cold brew
1/2 cup almond milk
Ice cubs
