DIY Dish Soap

Two years ago my first essential oil DIY was a household cleaner. It was a really simple vinegar and lemon essential oil combo.

Never ever did I think I would be the girl making my own dish soap, but here we are.

Every month I order different essential oils for our home through Young Living. I get up to 25% cash back on all of my purchases and free products every month.

If you're itching to save money on all the practical household items such as dish soap, then essential oils are a great place to begin!

Many essential oils are wonderful for cleaning:

Thieves

Lemon

Rosemary

Tea Tree

Thyme

Lemongrass

Citrus Fresh

Lavender

My DIY dish soap is a simple 3 ingredient recipe.

Here's what you need:

+Unscented Castile Soap

+Thieves Essential Oil

+Baking Soda

Here's a glimpse into why I picked Thieves Essential Oil for my DIY Dish Soap.

I also purchased a foaming hand soap dispenser so I can continually make this DIY over and over again.

You can simply reuse an old dish soap bottle from your home to make this DIY.

Step 1: Add 30 drops of Thieves into the foaming hand soap dispenser.

Step 2: Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda.

Step 3: Fill the soap dispenser 3/4 full with castile soap.

Step 4: Add a splash of water and shake well before use.

I obviously needed to shake my soap better before taking the photo I posted to this blog post. HA!

Next time I make my DIY Dish Soap I will probably change my recipe to include 15 drops of Thieves Essential Oil and 15 drops of Lemon Essential Oil. I love the benefits and smell of Thieves, but the combination with lemon is just a tad better.
