DIY Honey Oat Face Mask with Essential Oils
Anyone else have hormonal acne flare up on occasion? Many factors can impact whether or not your dealing with hormonal acne. Health.com gave the following practical tips for helping hormonal acne without birth control (read the full article here):
1. Use a good moisturizer.
Try making a simple DIY Skin Serum customized by your skin type with essential oils. Some incredible oils that are perfect for moisturizing include Lavender Essential Oil, Frankincense Essential Oil, Manuka Essential Oil and Tea Tree Essential Oil.
I use Grapeseed Oil as a carrier oil mixed with any of the above essential oils to make my DIY Skin Serum(s).
2. Add a Probiotic to your supplement routine.

3. Change your diet.
Have you tried eliminating diary? Excess consumption of dairy, sugar and carbohydrates can definitely impact your skin. Try cutting out one or all of the above and see how it impacts your skin's health.
4. Move your body.
Did you know that exercise will actually help your overall skin health? Add an evening walk to your routine.
How does stress impact your skin? Acne, breakouts and rashes could all be linked to stress or chronic stress issues. Learn some practical coping tools to help reduce your stress. Go for a walk, journal daily and applying essential oils for stress support are just a few ideas that might help.
6. Make a DIY Face Mask.
Sometimes your skin just needs some extra support for nourishment and a simple DIY Face Mask can help! Here's one recipe that only requires 3 ingredients.
Here's what I used:
~ 1 tablespoon rolled oats
~ 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup

Sounds like an incredible line up to support your skin, right?! Here's the steps you need to take to make this simple DIY:
Step 1: Measure 1 tablespoon of rolled oats and add to a mixing bowl.
Step 2: Add 1 tablespoon of honey.
Step 3: Add 1 drop of each essential oil listed above.
Step 4: Apply the DIY Face Mask to your skin for about 5-10 minutes and then wash off.
