How A Busy Mom Pursues the Lord with Purest Treasure Ministries
Updated: Jul 16, 2020
If you are new to the blog you may not know that I am a new momma (you can read Ella Joy's birth story here). One of the more difficult things about having a newborn is adjusting to the schedule (or should I say non-schedule). I use to wake up every morning with a fresh cup of coffee, make my gratitude list and then spend time with the Lord reading my Bible. I still read my Bible but the time looks different. I squeeze in a few minutes as I can, but my whole world is attached to the ever pressing needs of my little girl. I'm sure other new moms know exactly what I am talking about!
I truly believe that spending intentional time with the Lord daily is what has kept me in the faith through my crazy teenage years and into my twenties. Attending church is necessary and being able to go twice a week is important to my walk with God, but I realized that it was not enough. I needed a daily walk with God. That is why I decided early on in my relationship with God to make time daily to be with the Lord. I am not perfect and miss some days, especially since having my little boy. However, I try hard to carve out time either early in the morning or during nap time to read and pray.
In the last couple of years I have realized that other women struggle with this as well. They either don’t have enough time or they don’t know what to do in this quiet time. This is why I created Purest Treasure Ministries. I not only want to make women aware how important this quiet time is, but also help women know what to do in their quiet time. On my Instagram @puresttreasure I share resources and Bible studies that I have loved working through in my quiet time. I have also started to create some of my own resources that you can find here in my Etsy shop.
One of my recent resources is a seven day digital scripture journal that walks you through the book of Philippians. Each day has a set of scriptures to read from Philippians. Then there is a set of questions for you to go through that pertains to the reading. Each day also has a whole page dedicated for you to write your prayers and journal what God is teaching you! You can check it out here.
As I continue on this ministry journey I hope to keep creating resources that encourage women to grow deeper in their walk with God and become more intentional in their quiet time. Thank you for taking the time to read and for supporting this new ministry! May God richly bless you!
