New Year. New Goals.

Updated: May 10, 2020

Happy New Year!

Are you spending today setting new goals?

As an enneagram one goal setting and list making is my THING. I love it and especially make to-do lists every single day. My mind feels clearer when I take the time to actually write down my goals.

For 2020 I'm keeping my goals super simple.

1. Read More

Even if I read two pages a day I will continue to make progress. Baby steps are better than no steps at all! I'm currently reading The Miracle of the Scarlet Thread by Dr. Richard Booker, Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers and Intercessory Prayer by Dutch Sheets.

Some of the books I've been eyeing to read in 2020 include:

+ Get Out of Your Head by Jennie Allen

+ Strong Girl, Brave Girl

+ I Can Do Hard Things

+ Present Over Perfect

+ The Enneagram Type 1

What books are you wanting to read in 2020?

I'm sure I'm missing some really good reads from my list!

2. Less Plastic

I went to Walmart to pick up my groceries and asked the cashier to please use my reusable bags instead of the plastic Walmart ones. The look of shock quickly spread across the man's face and he said, "I've never had someone ask me to do that before."

I guess I shouldn't really be surprised that most Americans aren't actively trying to reduce plastic consumption but I was surprised. I'm not perfect at remembering to always bring my reusable options when I'm on the go either. Sometimes I simply ask the cashier to take my item out of the plastic bag if I'm not quick enough to ask them not to use plastic. My goal for 2020 is to be prepared with reusable options consistently and to reduce our overall plastic consumption.

Part of this goal includes investing into beeswax wraps, washing and reusing glass jars, more Essential Oil DIYs and less buying nonsense we don't need.

Part of this goal includes helping others get started with using essential oils! When you join my team in January with a Premium Stater Kit, I'll send you an amber glass spray bottle set from Amazon.

You can:

• Make safe DIY household cleanerDIY perfumeDIY room sprays • DIY sleep sprays/rollers • DIY immune boosting sprays/rollers • and so much more!

To get started order a Premium Stater Kit! You will receive 12 of the most popular essential oils, Thieves hand sanitizer, a diffuser and more! The kit is $165.

*****You can also order a basic kit for $35. 3. Prep for Baby

My husband and I announced this week that we will be welcoming a new baby GIRL into our house in 2020. We are over the moon excited and cannot wait to meet her!

This means that a majority of this new year will be spent preparing for baby, figuring out how to be parents and keep the child alive. HA.

I'll be making lots of baby DIYs this year on the blog!

Expecting mommas - any particular DIY you'd like to see? Send me an email at joyfulworldessentials@gmail.com to make a request for a 2020 DIY recipe!

Part of how I will be preparing for baby is by changing my Essential Rewards orders to include more baby products. If you are curious about switching to non-toxic products for your baby in 2020, Essential Rewards is a super affordable program Young Living offers that includes earning cash back and free products.

The minimum is $50 a month, which is super easy to do! We transferred part of our grocery budget to Young Living because Walmart/Target is not giving me up to 25% cash back on my orders! Plus, I can trust the safety and quality of Young Living products.

Praying your new year is full of joy and blessings!
